Managed Services Tier 2 Engineer

  • Provide second tier support to end users by handling escalated incidents and service requests
  • Responsible for handling additional project work as assigned by management
  • Analyze existing systems and make proactive recommendations for improvements to customer environments and application landscapes
  • May assist in implementing and supporting systems, GPO, VMware, Azure and other cloud technologies, and networking configurations


  • 3+ years of recent computer, server, and network troubleshooting experience
  • Advanced knowledge of current Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge of computer and server hardware
  • Advanced knowledge of server-based technologies and services such as Active Directory, Exchange, domain services, group policy objects, and other server applications
  • Experience with operating system migrations (Windows 7 to Windows 10 as an example) and the associated challenges involved
  • Experience with creating Windows PowerShell scripts and deployment
  • Strong experience with Office 365 client-side support with tenant administration being a plus
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting and design
  • Experience with Remote Management and Monitoring (RMM) tools, patching, and asset management
  • Familiarity with hosted cloud solutions and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • Strong system and maintenance documentation skills
  • Experience with ITSM tools and procedures and other service desk concepts
  • Previous experience in a managed services environment preferred
  • Experience with data center backup solutions (Azure Site Recovery, Carbonite, AppAssure, etc.)desired
  • Microsoft Certifications desired
